In this 4-session class, you and a small group of students will learn and practice advanced parenting skills, including:
- Building trust and goodwill with your child
- Cooperation without conflict
- Supporting your upset child
- Helping your child build good habits
- Self-care and self-compassion for parents
During the class you will get:
- Four self-study modules, including self-paced exercises
- Four interactive online group sessions, filled with practice and discussion
- Opportunities to practice outside of class, and debrief/troubleshoot in the group
About the Instructor
Dr. Magen earned his M.A. in education and Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University, and completed post-doctoral training in population health at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Magen served as the research director for the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, before founding the Center for Supportive Relationships. Dr. Magen works with public school districts, universities, hospitals and private corporations, where he teaches educators, clinicians, managers and parents how to build stronger, more joyful relationships in their professional and personal lives. Dr. Magen's work has been published in top-tier scientific journals including Psychological Science, Emotion, and Academic Pediatrics, and has been cited in popular media outlets varying from Allure Magazine to Psychology Today.
